Production of orange peel distillate
1st 1 liter of water in the mixing bowl of the Thermomix Ò or Monsieur Cuisine Ò and Bosch Cookit Ò give.
100 g / max. Fill ¾ of the cooking insert with dried or fresh orange peels. Recommendation: Wash the (organic) oranges thoroughly to remove any residue or wax. To make an orange peel hydrosol that is rich in essential oils, it is recommended to use the top layer of the orange peel, without the white flesh, as this is where the valuable oils are concentrated. The peels can then be cut into fine strips.
2nd It is important that the cooking basket is well filled but loose to ensure that the steam can penetrate well through the bowls and optimally extract the essential oils.
3. Also important: if you use dried botanicals, moisten them slightly!
4th Put the lid on with the still (@DiFUMA) and start as described in the instructions, depending on which food processor you have.
O Example: In the Thermomix®, set the time to 45 minutes, the temperature to Varoma® and the speed to level 1
5th After 10-15 minutes, the hydrosol drips into the collecting vessel.
A notice:
-The spray bottle should be shaken vigorously before use so that the oils mix with the water.
-Hydrolats should always be stored in a cool and dark place.
